“The Sound Of The Hound”
Our Story
With over 40 years raising and training beagles, we are dedicated to promoting a complete all-around hunting beagle that any rabbit hunter would be excited to own.
We were blessed to be born into a family where the sound of the hound still rings. We had beagles ever since I can remember. We used to have coon dogs and ran fox & coyote hounds for over 30 years. Beagles have always been a part of our life.
I remember as little guys around 10 years old running behind our momma beagle with a bunch of her puppies following behind her chasing a rabbit. The puppies squealing and barking as they went aroused an inner feeling in us that still remains to this day.
Now in our upper 50’s, we thank the Good Lord for the sound of the hound that still remains profound.
Core Principles
Excellence in the field
Breeding hunting hounds with the proper combination for conformation and field ability. Strong conformation gives ease of movement which allows our beagles to hunt hard day after day and still eager to go the next day. It gives hounds stamina, pace, and longevity.
First and foremost a beagle must be suitable and a pleasure for gun hunting to be considered part of our pack. Our hounds have been successful at field trials, shows, and rabbit gun hunting in the brush.
We love snowshoe hare hunting, which is usually a mandatory part of our schedule every fall and winter.
Legacy of Success
We have finished out AKC field Champions on cottontail and snow shoe hare, as well as Champions & Grand champions in UKC (United Kennel Club). In the Hunting Beagle format, a dog must hunt, handle, jump its own rabbit, and not run off game.
In 2015, we were blessed with winning the UKC World Hunt Championship out of 231 prequalified dogs. We continued this success by placing 5th in 2016 and 6th in 2017.
A Special Honor
You must forgive everybody & hold no grudges.
Be honest and fair in all your dealings.
And do the best you can do with the talents God gave you.
We owe great honor and respect to our dad Eli J Yoder for allowing us the opportunity to grow up with hounds and teaching us about hounds. He is greatly missed.
